About us
Huisartsenspoedposten Amsterdam organizes emergency GP care in the evening, night and at weekends for residents of Amsterdam and the surrounding area. We work from four GP posts and a central triage post. Together we ensure that patients with an urgent request are carefully assessed and referred to the right care. Huisartsenspoedposten Amsterdam employs about 200 employees and more than 500 general practitioners are affiliated.
Our role in emergency care
When their own GP practice is closed, patients with an urgent need for care can contact the General Practitioner. Through telephone triage, we determine what is needed: advice, a consultation at the post or a visit. Expert triage nurses, general practitioners and supporting colleagues work closely together in this regard. This is how we ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time.
Collaboration
We work closely with general practitioners in the region, hospitals, ambulance care and other chain partners. Good cooperation is essential to keep emergency care accessible, safe and future-proof. As an organisation, we continuously invest in quality, training and attracting well-trained professionals. In this way, we are building strong emergency care for now and in the future.
This is how we work together in emergency care
In our employer video, we show how we prepare for emergency care every evening, night and weekend. From triage nurses to general practitioners and colleagues at the post and in the office: together we ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time.
